Copyright Spiral Weld Case Study: Repair of strainer shaft - how not to do it!
This strainer shaft was received with serious damage to the bearing journal areas due to the catastrophic failure of a metal sprayed deposit previously used to repair the journals.
This failure has caused a plant breakdown with associated loss of production and maintenance costs and required an emergency high integrity repair.
The journals were high integrity 'Spiral Weld' repaired with parent 316 stainless steel material, to original dimensions and returned to our customer in a short period of time.

Unlike metal spraying, spiral welding is a fully structural repair which becomes a homogenous part of the original component and will not detatch or delaminate under any circumstances. You can trust it not to let you down!
